Shahrukh Khan will host the fourth season of KBC

After hosting the hugely successful television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 on STAR Plus, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be back as host of a new reality game show for the channel.

The yet-to-be-titled show is formatted on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, a US-based game show featuring adult contestants facing questions picked directly from the textbooks of first standard till fifth graders.

Siddhartha Basu, head of Synergy Adlabs, confirming the news, “Shah Rukh will be hosting the Indian version of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, the biggest reality show of the past year in the US, which will be produced by Synergy Adlabs.”

According to reports, Shah Rukh will also host the fourth season of KBC.

7th Indian Telly Awards 2007 was held on 16th November, 2007 at Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri in Mumbai. 7th Indian Telly Awards 2007 held amidst telly stars.

Shah Rukh Khan was announced the best anchor for Kaun Banega Crorepati but he was missing to receive the award.

SRK KBC LIVE : Flashback to Eighth Week to end of Season1

Week 8
	This was definitely a crazy week on KBC filled with crashes. From Arvind Mishra who came down from 25 lakhs to 6, 40,000 rupees at the start of the week to Sanjaya K. whose game got cut short even before he could get very far – all of them have crashed from relatively strong positions.
	But one of the nicest episodes on another front was when we saw SRK sporting a mundu with Sanjaya!
Week 9
	Week nine definitely wasn’t as exciting as the some of the earlier episodes. One of the interesting contestants this week was Shoba Rajgiri from Kolkata. A linguist she taught SRK a few phrases in various languages. Having reached 12, 50,000, she got stuck at the next question for 25 lakhs. Unsure of the answer she decided to leave the game and took home a respectable 12, 50,000 rupees.
Week 10
	Week ten easily made up for the previous week. First Akhilesh Chandra left viewers with his performance. Playing brilliantly he worked through the questions intelligently and smartly. Using reason and fact he won 25 lakh rupees for himself and left everyone else spell bound with his knowledge.
	And if that wasn’t enough, we had the Munnabhai duo playing for three different charities. Both Sanjay and Boman performed very well. Keeping the audiences entertained with their wit and humour, the two won 50 lakh rupees. From quizzing to singing, the celebrity special had something for everyone.
Week 11
	The week which had begun slightly lack luster looked much better by the end of the week. Manoj Pande, playing brilliantly, worked his way through the questions and his sensible play helped him win 50 lakh rupees. Unable to answer the 1 crore question, he made the wise decision of leaving the game.
Week 12
	Rahul Kamdar, 21, from Pune who was a rollover contestant from last week resumed play on Monday night with 40,000 rupees already in his kitty. Slowly working through the questions, he won 12, 50,000 rupees. However, not sure about the next question, Kamdar decided to leave the game much to everyone’s disappointment on the sets. Well-mannered, intelligent and very sensible for his age, Rahul was a treat to watch. He even left King Khan mesmerized – no wonder he took off his watch and gifted it to him!
Week 13
	The last week had a lot of drama and emotions. From SRK to the crew, no one wanted to see the season come to a close. The highlight of the last week was definitely the KBC finale.
	Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan joined Shah Rukh Khan to celebrate the end of a season that has brought tears and smiles to everyone!

SRK KBC LIVE : Flashback First Week to Seventh week

Week 1
	The first week of KBC with SRK undoubtedly belonged to Ramakrishna Guggilal from Andhra Pradesh and Mohit Mahipal from Issar. Guggi MBBS, as SRK fondly named him, won a place in all our hearts when he was the first contestant to crash on KBC as well as the lucky recipient of the famous SRK massage!
	Mahipal on the other hand helped lift our mood through the week by becoming the highest winning contestant when he walked away with 25 lakh rupees!
Week 2
	This week belonged to two women – Vasu Jaitley and Rachna Sharma. Vasu, who was a rollover contestant from the first week was a die hard SRK fan and seemed to be enjoying her time with him more than winning lakhs of rupees!
	And Rachna… well everyone knows the teacher from Jindh!
Week 3
	This week began with twenty year old Vishal Malavya from Vapi. Playing absolutely brilliantly and largely on instinct Vishal went home with 25 lakhs. At the end of game, he was quite dejected as when he decided to leave the game, the answer he had given was the correct one. Knowing that he could have had 50 lakhs he was quite disappointed. But one of the highlights of the show was definitely SRK and him praying with Vishal’s lucky charm as well as SRK’s chat with Vishal about the various WWE wrestlers.
Week 4
	Almost a month into KBC and he whole world seemed to be getting into the show. At the start of the week, Mridula Gogoi from Assam reached the Hot Seat and got a chance to do the Bihu step with SRK as well as dance with him on Kali Kali Ankhen, he now wants Khan to become the ambassador of Assam. And on Wednesday that week, SRK invited some of his closest mates from the industry to celebrate Valentine’s Day with him on KBC. In the midst of a lot of laughter, song and dance there was some quizzing too! From the hot and sexy Malaika Arora Khan to the suave Farhan Akhtar to the stressed out Karan Johar all were grilled by the nation’s favourite host that night.
Week 5
	Week five gave Sakharam Chopde, a photographer from Buldana,to play opposite SRK. Khan and Chopde developed a wonderful rapport and were often seeing joking on the Hot Seat. Khan was quite upset to see another crash when Bapu went from 12, 50,000 rupees to 6, 40,000. As Sakharam wanted to use this money for his two daughters’ weddings, SRK decided to gift him two watches for his daughters as well.
	In the same week we saw Dilip “DJ” Jashvantray take a chance at the 2 crores. Keeping in trend with DJ’s cool attitude SRK decided to use phrases like “yo freeze it” and the “finger-meet” instead of a Hi-fi as well as saw the introduction of the now infamous Thinking Hat! DJ won 12, 50,000 rupees before he decided to leave the game.
Week 6
	Holi was round the corner and everything on KBC took on a colourful note. From gulaal to mithai SRK had it all. And to celebrate Holi on KBC, SRK was joined by two beautiful actresses – Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta- on Thursday evening. From discussing what kind of life partners they were looking for to dancing on the sets and answering some questions in between, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. And before we all knew it, the duo had won 50 lakhs!
Week 7
	Having reached the half way mark, week seven was filled with fun and excitement. We first saw Dr. Jeenu Priya from Meerut reach the Hot Seat. A fan of Shah Rukh’s she definitely seemed to be enjoying her time with him. Although she won only 1, 60,000 rupees she said the time she spent with SRK was priceless for her. But the highlight of the week came on Thursday. Ajith Tharakan from Kerala joined SRK on the Hot Seat. Slowly but steadily he answered all the questions correctly to become the highest winning contestant till date on this season of KBC when he reached 50 lakh rupees.

SRK has done a great job as KBC host: Amitabh

Movie icon Amitabh Bachchan says actor Shah Rukh Khan has done a great job as his successor on a popular television show.

Bachchan told a movie magazine in its June issue that he disliked comparisons with Khan, 41, who replaced him as the host of “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” a game show based on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”

Indian media have often published reports about a rivalry between the two stars.

“He is enjoying doing it and is receiving great acclaim,” Bachchan was quoted as saying. “Comparisons are odious. They only make good media copy.”

“He is a warm and caring person deserving of all the love and affection that the masses give him,” Bachchan added.

The actor also ruled out returning to the show. “TV is a tough job,” he said. “At 65, I doubt if I can face that challenge. Shah Rukh is a wonderful choice for KBC.”

Bachchan has a massive following among South Asians and has acted in more than 150 movies in a career spanning more than three decades.

Khan is one of Bollywood’s biggest heartthrobs of the past decade and has acted in nearly 60 movies.

“Kaun Banega Crorepati” is one of the most popular television programs in India. It was suspended last year after Bachchan was hospitalized with an intestinal ailment.

Television channel Star Entertainment India revived the show with Khan as the host in January.

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Kareena Kapoor appear in KBC

After enthralling viewers across the country with Fifty Two entertaining episodes of quizzing, the time has come for season one of Kaun Banega Crorepati with SRK to bid adieu. But not just like that! The Badshah of Bollywood in his trademark style is all set to entertain viewers with an exciting, one of a kind, fun-filled episode of KBC. The grand finale episode of KBC will see the leading ladies of the silver screen Kareena Kapoor with Priyanka Chopra and the hottest pair of tinsel town, Salman Khan with Katrina Kaif when they come together on television for the first time ever on a game show.

After the movie Don, this is SRK’s first tryst with Kareena and Priyanka together. Priyanka Chopra on her experience in KBC said, “KBC was a fantastic experience and I enjoyed myself to the hilt. Sitting across Shahrukh can be quite nerve wrecking, but he completely put me at ease. In fact he was completely driven up the wall because Kareena and I would keep debating which answer to opt for and always came up with different options. The fun was complete with Salman and Katrina on the show, where all of us did the last segment together.”

If word is to believed then Salman will leave the audiences rolling in splits of laughter with his wit and wacky humor. The episode also has Priyanka exercising her vocal chords and belting out melodies that will leave audiences speechless.

Kareena will donate her prize money to St. Anthony’s Old Age Home and Mount Mary’s Bandra, and Priyanka will contribute her prize money to Nari and the Utkal Bipanaa Sahayata Samiti. Katrina will donate her prize-money to the Kovalam Charitable trust and Salman will donate his money for his soon to be opened Salman Khan Foundation (SKF).

Salman Khan unveils NGO on KBC

Salman Khan has received a lot of flak for his infamous deeds in the past. However, the actor has made genuine efforts to rectify his image ever since. After extending financial help to a cancer-stricken child, the brawny actor has decided to institutionalize the cause of helping the disadvantaged.

Salman has applied for the registration of an NGO called the Salman Khan Foundation, which will render support to the poor and needy masses. He decided to throw light on his cause in a special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 3. Hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, the episode was shot recently with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif on the hot seats. It is speculated that the duo have won a prize amount of Rs. 50 lakh on the particular show, which they will forward to the Salman Khan Foundation.

It is learned that Bollywood babes Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor will also be seen together in that episode of KBC.

SRK KBC LIVE : Munnabhai makes Gandhigiri on KBC

Kaun Banega Crorepati, next special celebrity episode with feature Bollywood’s blockbuster hit flick – ‘Munnabhai’ comic pair – Sanjay Dutt & Boman Irani.

Making way to Gandhigiri on KBC both Sanjay & Boman will dash the spirit of goodness as practiced in their movie Munnabhai. In their riveting humor and ishtyle, the perfect pair of two intense & multi-faceted actors will get on with the game, as the star host- SRK, warmly welcomes them to celebrate the Gandhi’s dictum ‘Kar bhala toh ho bhala’, inviting them to play for a noble cause!

As the show proceeds with a comical sidekick, Sanjay tries out some of his popular Munnabhai frolics- playing along, he once tries to slide an earphone in jest to aid him with an answer, while he is caught by Boman & SRK! Sometimes even consulting Bapu (the famous imaginary character of Munnabhai-2) whom, only he can see & hear, to guide him to the correct answers.

All the three master pranksters (SRK, Sanjay & Boman) pull a fast one on Arshad Warsi (aka Circuit, the trusted aide of Munna Bhai), when they call him to tell that he is on their Phone-A-Friend, helpline as they are stuck on the big- 2 crore question! Arshad, caught completely off-guard becomes numb and topples over to just guess an answer, of the hard-hitting question.

SRK surprises the audiences, as he tells them about Sanjay’s hidden talent of ‘air guitaring’ and requests him to demonstrate a small piece of his skill on the show. Shah Rukh playing the perfect host & dost also, requests Boman to sing the International popular number – “We are the world” that had originally been sung by various artistes. At this Boman leaves everyone jaw dropped as he actually modulates his voice singing & mimicking all the original singers!.The episode will air on March 29.

SRK gifts Santros to KBC contestants

Probably inspired from the Oprah Winfrey show, Shah Rukh Khan and the producers of KBC handed out 9 cars to the contestants of the show. The lucky nine were the ones who were selected for the fastest finger first round but who could not make it to the hot seat.

As SRK is the brand ambassador of Hyundai Santro, it was probably the most likely car to be given out. It may be recalled that Oprah Winfrey gave away 276 Pontiac G-6 midsize 2005 sports sedans in 2004 to all the members of her audience present at the studio.

Though Shah Rukh tags the episode as nothing special, he went onto say that they did want to do something as the season was going to end.
