As per the reports in media shahrukh is going to change the way KBC was planned.
If you’re a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, and manage to get on the new Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) show that he will host starting January 22, you might get a bonus: A massage from the star himself. To give the show a hipper and more interactive look, Khan has decided he will do more than help contestants into their chairs; he will give them a shoulder massage if they become too nervous.

That’s just one of the things Khan will do differently from previous host Amitabh Bachchan. Soon after Shah Rukh was signed on, he went into a huddle with the show’s conceptualiser Siddharth Basu and Star TV CEO Sameer Nair, to try and bring some changes to KBC. Much of this is being kept under wraps by the channel but sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, say Bachchan’s signature lines have been junked for some new catchphrases. “Lock kar diya jaye” is now “Should we freeze it”, and “Computer ji” will take on a new identity as “Mr Computer” (or, depending on person in the hot seat, “Ms Computer”).

Khan is going to let loose his repartee and humour on the sets, sometimes at his own expense. For instance, Khan plans to joke about the height of his chair being reduced, both as a subtle acknowledgement of his takeover from Bachchan and also to win over the superstar’s fans.

“The KBC set and format is very rigid, so there’s not much Shah Rukh can change,” says a coordinator who did not want to be quoted. “But he will try to bring some small, but significant, changes within the fixed format.” His look, designed by buddy Karan Johar, is corporate rather than Indian. He’s also going to keep his Delhi Hindi; no lilting Allahabadi accent here.

“He’s been working very hard on his KBC appearance,” says the coordinator. “During dry runs at Mannat, he rehearsed with dummy contestants from all socio-economic and educational backgrounds.” The question, as always, is: Will the new KBC work? Khan may find it hard to “freeze” the answer to that one.
